CHANGE YOUR POINT OF VIEWA complex, high-performance hand-wound caliber with elegant, sporty lines brings to life this novel interpretation of the world time complication. With its Convex collection, Greubel Forsey gives its timepieces a new youthful look. The GMT Balancier Convexe reinvents the spirit of the travel watch with a new dynamic aesthetic composition. Henceforth, the Earth is at the center of all attention. Designed like an amphitheater, its dial features a realistic representation of the earth. Its gyrations are synchronized with those of the blue planet throughout the course of a day, enabling it to determine world time. For the very first time, the GMT complication is coupled with a 30 inclined balance, which is one of the brand’s technical signatures.A white and black circle makes it possible to distinguish day from night. Another larger gray disk, calibrated at 12 o’clock, displays the local time. A third one is devoted to the timer surrounding the entire set. Red triangular points coated with luminescent material make the information easy to read. At 10 o’clock, a blued hand facilitates the reading of the second time zone. All these components are housed in the collection’s iconic 46.5mm diameter case, here machined from titanium. A push-button in the case middle is used to adjust the GMT Balancier Convexe. The inclusion of a sapphire crystal on the case back also enables identifying the rotating disc on which the 24 time zones are engraved in reference to the main cities. In a nod to the workshop’s location, the inscription CHX-DE-FDS, for La Chaux-de-Fonds, is used instead of Paris. When traveling, it’s all about perspective…
