Zenith DEFY SKYLINE ICE BLUE BOUTIQUE EDITIONS

A COOL SUMMERThe Le Locle-based brand kicks off the summer season with three new steel timepieces whose star-studded faces are adorned in an azure color as refreshing as a dip in a mountain lake.Although rooted in Zenith‘s rich heritage and only unveiled a little over a year ago, the Defy Skyline watch is brimming with both physical and technical assets that point to a bright future and a long, solid career in contemporary watchmaking. It is modern in form, function and color, all of which contribute to its strong personality. At the start of summer, when weather forecasts predict a scorching season, the Le Locle-based brand is unveiling a trio of Defy Skyline Ice Blue Boutique Editions that will send shivers down your spine. This small series, available for sale on the company’s website, comprises two steel models, one with a 41mm-diameter case and the other measuring 36mm and offered with a “plain” dodecagonal bezel or lined with a band of brilliant-cut diamonds. While both feature an azure face covered with small stylized stars, with hours and minutes in the center and a discreet date window at 3 o’clock, the first reference features the 1/10th of a second in a counter at 9 o’clock. The latter’s hypnotic ballet is punctuated by the El Primero caliber 3620, a 5hz automatic movement that delivers a 60-hour power reserve when fully wound. The smallest version, meanwhile, is powered by the Elite 670 caliber, also automatic and equipped with a star-shaped oscillating weight, which provides 50 hours of power reserve. The Defy Skyline Ice Blue Boutique Editions are worn on a steel link bracelet and come with a second textured rubber strap to match the dial. However, to truly make the watch your own, Zenith offers an assortment of links in different colors and materials on its website.
